What You Actually Need Beyond the Kit
"RTR" doesn't mean "run it right now." Most kits ship with the battery and charger, but check the box — some entry trims sell those separately. Budget for a couple of AA's or a charged transmitter battery, and a basic hex driver set for the first inevitable crash fix. Add roughly $30-50 on top of the kit price so you're not stuck at the door on day one.
